Ounced Now with no hands!

Dude! I just saw Joel!

Wow, I’m so proud of myself that I caught this.

Joel Hodgson (from MST3K) guest starred on Freaks and Geeks!

I totally recognized his voice.

Awesome!

Oh yeah, and Jason Schwartzman, too.

Eat Fresh

Remember Subway Sandwich stamps? Well I did today while ordering todays $2.99 special at said franchise. I decided to speak up about my brief reminiscing to my sandwich artist.

Me: “You know what I miss? Subway Stamps”

SA: [puzzled look] “What are those?”

Me: (You’ve got to be kidding me) “You know the stamps you’d get after buying a 6 inch sandwich, getting 10 stamps for a free 6 inch”

SA: “Oh, those! To be honest I never ate at Subway until I started working here”

Me: (Who doesn’t eat or never has eaten at Subway!? Has Jared taught you nothing?) “Oh, odd”

SA: “But I heard they are bringing them back in June”

Me: (Delighted) “That is music to my ears! Thank you!”

With such good news I decided to make a speedy return to home to further investigate this possibility of my stamps coming back.

So far I have wielded no results, but I’m going to keep trucking and keep you all posted!

SUBWAY SANDWICH STAMPS FTW!

OzTV: Episode 1

How did I ever miss this one!? I swear this skit is amazing beyond words!

Amazing work safety PSA’s from our friends in Canukistan

And you all new I’m a thug at heart!

Stay tuned!

My little blogger is all grown up!

So what is it? What is the proper time where I can make fun of someone’s death?

Yes, yes I poked fun at the recent Heath Ledger death a little too soon. But I’m not apologizing.

Now why did I delete that article? Hmm, I posted it in haste. I didn’t write it well enough, Wordpress wasn’t formatting my ordered list correctly, but my punchline was too FRIGGIN hilarious.

“What Owen Wilson couldn’t do, Heath Ledger did better”

Come on!

Golf Clap: Flickr and Library of Congress

Flickr launched a new program with the Library of Congress to have Flickr users help tag photos with ‘no known copyright restrictions’ from the Library of Congress.

Great idea, really, props to Flickr. But I can see this getting sour already. The scabs of Youtube commentors will soon infest our somewhat decent world of common courtesy on Flickr, and have our lovely picture of Rosie the Riveter show up after a search inquiry of “2 MILFS, 1 incontinence pad”

How is Flickr going to moderate this?

Anna Nicole Smith vs. Brad Renfro FIGHT!

Had I not been guiltily glued to Perez Hilton.com I would have never known about the recent death of Brad Renfro. And even then, if I blinked I would have missed the article completely.

So why is it that this legitimate actor gets an inkling of a mention on news sites, when everyone and their effing dog, including NPR, CNN, and FOX talked on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on about Anna Nicole Smith’s death?

Train wreck theory I suppose?

Just sayin’.

Vote 2008: A look back on 2004

2008 is quickly approaching. I definitely can’t wait. But whilst talking to my friend Alexis, I started to reflect back to my first major election. We both had different motivations, spite here, anger there but none the less we both wanted to see Bush out of office.

I remember thinking my polling site was very close to my house, walking distance even. At the church that I drive by everyday, and would have never otherwise entered. I was proud to be voting and proud to finally see a little more of my neighborhood that I have been living in for 5+ years. I even ran into my neighbor in the lines. I punched in my votes, got my sticker and then headed to work.

At the end of the day I took the bus home and called up the boyfriend at the time, unfortunately he had bad news for me. Bush had won. And Kerry decided not to dispute the vote tallies. I didn’t particularly like Kerry, I just want a democrat in the house. So yeah, I was upset, so much in fact that I was in tears. In fucking tears.

I’ll be able to put the tissues away finally November 4, 2008.

What was 2004 like for you?

Disclaimer: No, I haven’t really been crying for the past 4 years, but others have been and those are the victims of Bush’s administration. My vote is for them as it is for me. I can’t wait.

Vote 2008: New Hampshire Primaries

Surprise surprise. Things are getting very exciting. I was not expecting Hilary to take New Hampshire at all. But oddly enough I’m kinda disappointed she won.

Perplexing indeed considering I was disappointed that Obama won in Iowa. I’m flip flopping all over the place.

But so is everyone else. This election is crazy, so many options, and its still almost anyone’s game. Or…

Oz: Man never have I been more excited about an election
andrewjthomas: i know, its so crazy
andrewjthomas: the field is so wide open
andrewjthomas: anything can happen
andrewjthomas: well, the field is wide open to rich people mostly bought and sold by corporations and the industrial military complex
andrewjthomas: but still
Oz: lol

So what about that crying? I didn’t see the interview where Hilary started the water works but everyone keeps asking me if I think that helped her win New Hampshire. I refuse to believe that it helped. Because crying on TV could have hurt her as much as it might have aided her victory. So it’s moot to me. I proudly stand on my decisions based on the candidates’ actual views and issues and not on drama, not on personality and I turn a deaf ear to gossip.

But as I mentioned in my Iowa post, I’m going to have to consider those factors soon. We have to pick a Democratic nominee that will sway the moderates, the undecided, the independents. Putting Obama up against McCain, or any other decent Republican (those are fictional right?) against a Democrat that appears to liberal or too …. inexperienced will lose us (the Democrats) the House. And that ultimately is what I DON’T want.

Shame on you San Francisco

Today you all gathered your trees so you could burn them.

How fucking stupid.

The combustion process releases large amounts of carbon dioxide, other gases, and solid substances directly into the air for people to breathe. And, of course, disposal of materials is never as good for the environment as using them again in a different form. Natural debris can be chipped or composted into landscaping material. Quoted from here.

I thought you all were hippies. Tree hugging, pot smoking, barnacles at each hipster-emo coffee house hippies. But then you load up your live christmas tree, drive it down to the beach, set fire it to it and get shit faced. Okay, okay some of you might drag it with you on to MUNI (do they charge you extra fare for that?)….drag it from your single gear bike….wait…. no…. no

And then you call it art. FUCKING ART!! Next thing I know you’ll send dancers to the Amazon forrest, light it all ablaze while you pacify yourselves on your hookahs and pipes, and then sleep pass out peacefully at night because it was a fucking art project.

Don’t even get me started on Burning Man.

I’m no environmentalist, hell I sat in my idle car for an hour last night (mind you talking to a friend and helping him out, I’ll call that my carbon offset), but I needed to keep my snarky ass warm so that I wake up today and bitch out you hypocritical asses.

What’s next?

Vote 2008: Iowa Caucuses

Hello! Hello! Its 2008, and you know what that means?!

We’re fucking voting in November!! Hell effing yes! Its so close, I’m very excited.

But as some of you all may know, and probably tired hearing about (shame on you if you feel that way), tonight was the Iowa caucus. Here we decide possible candidates for the Presidential election. The democrats and republicans hold a meeting and decide who they want for their candidates in each respective party. Obama was projected Democratic winner as was Huckabee for the Republican party. I was a little disappointed in the Democratic results, I was rooting for Clinton. But a reporter on NPR made me feel a little better and somewhat more hopeful.

These caucuses nominate candidates, candidates that will be put up against those of the opposing party. These candidates are strategically chosen because they have to sway the moderates, the independents, the undecided. Putting up Hilary next to say Huckabee would probably give the win to the Republicans.

Wait, where did that hope go? So comparatively Obama and Clinton (especially Clinton) almost look very liberal compared to the right wings. We (the democrats) have to pick a candidate that can sway the most important demographic, the undecided, independent and moderate.

Now just because these candidates won Iowa over does not mean they will win the election.

The upcoming caucuses are going to be very interesting.

If you’re a little lost about where the candidates stand on issues, please check out this very useful chart.
