Spending G’s.
I’m pretty disgruntled.
My $70 AC Transit bus pass doesn’t expire til July 25th at 11:59pm. But when I put in in the card reader on the bus it buzz at me and informed me that it was expired. Last I checked today was July 25th. But the time was 7:30am. I remained calm and just figured that my pass just got demagnetized and I showed it to the bus driver accompanying my comment of “It doesn’t expire until a minute before midnight”
“But today is the 25th” as the bus driver glances at his watch
“Yes, you’re right but I have until 11:59″
“But it says here it’s expired and today is the 25th”
“But she has until tonight”, says an fellow passenger.
“Yeah, I have until 11:59pm tonight, not last night”
“But it says it’s expired”
“FINE!”
So I awkwardly fished out $1.75 and marched to the back of the bus.
I know I only had a day left, but it’s the principle of the thing.
Apparently you don’t have to go through public schooling to become a crotchity old bus driver. I had approximately 16 fucking hours in which I could have used my pass. Even Slim Shady on the bus knew it. But not Mister Bus-Driver.
And it doesn’t stop here. I’ve already dealt with 2 demagnetized BART cards, losing a total value of about $20.00. And yeah, I’m too lazy to go 12th Street BART station and get it taken care of. Why don’t the station agents have the power at their booths to fix my freaking card? Grrrr!!!
