Fabric Seats
Today’s morning commute, uneventful, thankfully. Except I had to get on the NL line since I had just missed the 57 by two minutes. Catching the NL is not a problem, it just takes me to th 19th St. Oakland BART station, unlike the MacArthur BART station that the 57 takes me to. The upside of riding the NL is ‘cushy’ seats we get on the bus.
AC Transit was just outfitted with a new fleet of Vanhool buses, some running on Natural Gas and other just Low Emissions. But with the new fleet we get redesigned seats that finally feel comfortable. But what I don’t get, is why do they insist on making the seats with fabic? The seats are lined in this nice fuzzy fabric decorated with the AC Transit logo. Nice, yes, I’ll agree to that, and yes, its nice to not slide all over the place like you would with the plastic bowl seats on the older lines, but you can’t get Bubba’s black marker ‘artistry’ out of the fabric seats. And what about all the other nastinesses? Sistahs Cheetoes, Juan’s tobacco, the leftover cum on Martha’s leg from last nights hot romp? Why did AC Transit get the fabric seats with I’m sure cost more than the plastic ones, only to make a budget for the stripping and reupholestering of the new comfortable seats? With the plastic bowls you just just go after it with a high pressured hose, and gallons of bleach, with money leftover. No, instead I get to wonder whats festering inside the fibers of the ass holders. Oh god! Don’t remind me of ass sweat! How about instead of spending the extra $5,000 per bus for the fabic seats, how about you drop the prices of your bus passes which already cost me $70.00. Yeah.
$70 is what you’d spend if you rode the bus twice a day, five days a week. No savings. Sure its unlimited. But we’ll avoid the bus as much as we can. I’m only getting an extra say… $5.00 of value out of my ticket for the times I ride the bus outside of my normal commuting times.
Or maybe pay your workers a litte more so that they’ll stop being bitches about their break. So they’ll stop making a sidetrip to Wendys while on the way to BART so they can get their Triple Bacon Buffalo Chipotle 57 Cheese with Extra Meat Burger. So they don’t have to run into 7-11 and get a gross of Monterey Jack Chicken taquitos (2 for $1.59!!!)
Or go buy an iPhone.
